This podcast is mine it is totally irregular uploading of episodes since I work as a full time nurse and when I come home from work I am totally tired. To be honest I have not gotten very far in my FINISHES this year. I love quilting and try to keep working on my projects… but it is slow going. I do blog and podcast about the the quilt books, notions and newest techniques I buy. I plan to post an episode once a month …. that said it has not happened yet….

OFF KILTER QUILT the WordPress BLOG
Frances is a children’s book author who has taken up quilting in the past 7 years. She is a dedicated finisher and takes you along on her journey. I loved listening to her podcast over the last 5 years as she progressed from a newbie with a new to her sewing machine to an accomplished quilter. Frances is from North Carolina and talks about her life, her kids, quilting and the weather. ( joke) She also often talks about the books she is reviewing. Frances often wanders off topic but so delightfully. I look forward to everyone of her episodes and often listen to them more than once.

Pam is the most prolific and consistent pod-caster and quilter. Her out put is amazing especially when you consider she works at home at a very busy job and family life. She talks alot about her process. I follow both her blog and podcast in Feedly so I do not miss an episode. Pam and Daisy are currently reading books together and then reviewing them as part of the podcast. Their book picks are interesting. I know you will find this an interesting quilting podcast to listen to… she will definitely inspire you to keep at your projects.

I first saw Pat when she presented her trunk show soon after I was introduced to quilting back in 2005. To think of it I think she was the first national teacher I had been exposed to. Pat was also the first podcast I use to listen to when I learned about podcasting in 2010. ( Remember I am not of the computer generation that learns how to use a computer in grade school. Computers had not even been invented when I went to school.) Pat currently works with American Patchwork and Quilting magazine but she had been podcasting for several years before she affiliated with them. Pat has been in the quilting business for years and has interviewed many of the nationally known quilting divas. She always have interesting guest to listen to. Pat publishes weekly so you can count on her when you want to listen to podcast while working on a project she always has something quilty to listen to.

ANNIE SMITH was the first quilting podcaster. She published over 100 podcasts when life through her a curve and she had to slow down in her posting new episode. I liked her podcast because she interviewed quilters on the west coast as she is based in California. Annie is teacher and quilt judge so you always garnered helpful hints from her episode. My favorite episodes of hers is the discussion of entering quilt shows. I have only touched on a few of the topics she discusses I always learn something from her she is well worth the LISTEN.

Amy and April are quilting friends who live in Colarado. They both are in the quilting industry as fabric designers and book authors. I love their episodes on their experiences at Quilt Market. Their podcast topics are eclectic discussing everything from notions, books, process and techniques. I definitely feel like a FLY ON THE WALL over hearing two quilting friends talk about quilting and their lives.

NEWEST PODCAST DISCOVERIES …. or REDISCOVERIES …. 2015
.
I recently downloaded and listened to both of these podcast and found them delightful. Tsoniki talks creativity and sewing with quilting as an addition but her topics are worth a listen to… I LOVE her accent. I have only listened to a couple of the podcast but have her cued up to listen to them all. Mark’s podcast is a rediscovery since he did not podcast after his surgery but is now going strong. I love his eclectic interviews as they cover all aspects of creativity. Both of these podcast are inspirational.

TSONIKI is a native AMERICAN who lives on post in Germany with her husband who is active military. I just discovered her podcast and am working my way thru the last several years. She interviews people in the creative community , mostly sewists, quilter and bloggers. She discusses process and how they create and make money with their crafts and their life. So far I have found this to be an informative and fun podcast. ( I have only listed to about 6 of her podcast episodes and have about 40 more to listen to.)

MARK has been in the quilting business for years after previous career in TV production. Mark has his own fabric lines and he lectures around the country. He has published a magazine and produced an internet quilting video on QNNTV …. QUILT OUT LOUD . With his connection to the quilt industry he has interesting interviews of quilter and all type of creative people. I use to listen to him all the time when I first learned to download podcasts. I stopped downloading not because of Mark but because I started burning the podcast to cDs and his MP3 files would not fit. The only place I could listen to him was on my desktop computer and that was so uncomfortable. I did not have any type of MP3 player at the time that came later when I got a new car with a port I could connect to the speakers. I am currently in the process of downloading all his podcasts. .

Hi Nonnie, I have been listening to your pod casts for years and enjoy your show. Have you ever done a Double Irish Chain scrappy quilt. I did see a beautiful one on one of your pages. It was beautiful and didn’t know if you made it or pinned it. If you have made a scrappy one, what did you use for a pattern? I have Eleanor Burns Irish Chain book, but it is not scrappy. Keep up your great work. Sandy
I have never
mademake that finished an IRISH CHAIN quilt. I have a couple in my UFOs but they are not scrappy as I was just learning to quilt and in a MATCHY – MATCHY phase where I had the shop girls pick colors rather than pick out my own….. thus I really did not like them much.CHECK OUT THIS BOOK…. IRISH CHAIN QUILTS BY MELISSA CORRY …. loved the book and love the quilts.
SANDY to make your IRISH CHAIN SCRAPPY JUST HAVE A GOOD MIX OF FABRICS cut to the directions in the pattern you like …. I usually make strip sets them make sure the cut sections are sewn with other fabrics and not repeated. Hope that helps
