WICKED Cherry-wood Challenge .. Theme was the Broadway play WICKED. They had to use a collection called WICKED GREENS and black fabric to make their projects. Loved the individual quilts if I looked at them one at a time. Every-time I looked at the entire wall of the quilt collection on got queasy and nauseated…. Not a favorite display.

This was my favorite quilt in the NEW QUILT FROM AN OLD FAVORITE Challenge. I could not read who made it from my picture as the writing was blurred in the picture. The FMQ was exquisite and totally inspirational. She used multiple different background in the quilt. I wish I had better close ups of this quilt.. every section was different and inspirational.

  1. Thank-you Nonnie for your very informative Pod cast on the AQS quilt show. I just had to come and check out all the pictures, some very beautiful quilts were displayed. Well done on sharing your experience there, it would have been wonderful.

  2. Thanks for posting the pictures Nonnie. I was there and didn’t see the detail you captured in the pictures! It was great seeing them through your eyes. I just listened to your podcast and Grand Rapids originally signed a 3 year deal with AQS beginning in 2012 which would have ended last year. They must have extended. I also agree it didn’t seem as crowded but I was only there on Wednesday this year and it was definitely not as busy it has been the past years on Wednesday. I can’t say how the weekend crowd was this year. I was there last year on Saturday and you couldn’t walk through the vendor area. They do have the dates for AQS Grand Rapids 2016 so I suppose they are going to do it again next year.
